For years, I had hoped to visit Isla Mujeres – for some reason I am attracted to small remote islands! I knew very little about the island other Isla Mujeres name of which translates to "Island of Women" and is known to be quaint, charming and full of Mexican tradition …

The island is very low, less than five miles long and half a mile wide.
