Besides, just throw in there, UCSD was ranked the second best university in the nation by Washington Monthly College Guide 2007. This is the greenest university in the ninth country according to national publication Greenopia. Perhaps relevant to the future residents of La Jolla, school is also the third largest employer in San Diego County. I could go on, of course, but I'll give other schools a voice.
La Jolla is home to the University National. This is a private accredited university with regional offices located throughout California and Nevada. There are over 750 scientists from Burnham, who attempts to reveal the molecular causes of a variety of diseases. Research topics include cancer, neuroscience, stem cell research, diabetes and obesity.
Finally, is the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, which is among the best institutions in the country when it comes to scientific research results and quality of life. It has been classified research in the world of biomedicine up the Institute in 2004 by the Times Higher Education Supplement and number one in the world of neuroscience and behavior by ScienceWatch this year alone.
